Who | What | Why

«C’è una generosità di lettura
come c’è una generosità umana,
ed anzi, forse, si tratta di una
cosa sola.

Be’, che cosa aspetti? Fallo! 😉

«There is generosity in reading
as there is generosity in humans,
or rather, perhaps, they are one
and the same thing. A philosophy
requires, in order for it to be
comprehended and for us to learn
something from it, our generosity»

(Enzo Paci, Sull’estetica di Dewey, in Il mito di Moby Dick)

The Phenomenology Lab is an online editorial project open to all researchers and people interested in Phenomenology, Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Sciences. Its aim is creating a space where all contributors could share or freely exchange information, ideas, theoretical contributions and research projects with people that, from different perspectives and with various objectives, consider the dialogue between these fundamental domains of Contemporary Philosophy to be stimulating and constructive. This aim comprises three primary aspects. In the first place the Lab intends to offer to each research community and researcher, independently of their institutional affiliation, an online accessible tool to track the progress of their activities while, at the same time, keeping others informed about their work. Secondly, the Lab aims at extending and deepening the debate and exchange of ideas with reference to a set of studies that seems more fragmentary and disjointed than necessary. Eventually the Lab aims to be a starting and reference point in spreading knowledge of the authors, texts, approaches, activities, scientific and popular meetings, and the researchers that, from various perspectives, work in the area of the italian phenomenological tradition and its different streams. Created on initiative of the journalist Stefano Cardini and of Roberta De Monticelli, Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and Director of PERSONA – Research Centre in Phenomenology and Sciences of the Person, the Phenomenology Lab is not based on a specific editorial plan, since it is not an online Philosophy journal. It is inspired by the spirit that animates social networks and net communities. Its character is therefore dynamic and completely dependent upon the initiative and contributions of those who will deem it useful and enriching to exchange ideas and contributions by means of this tool.

So, don’t hesitate! Join us! 😉
